The new conception of the forest road network optimation taking into account all forest func-tions results from a traditional approach when technical-economic aspects are completed by aspects of functional criteria coming from real potentials of a forestecosystem. Thus, from a technical-economic approach an integrated technical-economic-ecological conception be-comes. Such a proposal of the forest road network should be a criterion for logging and trans-port technologies. On the basis of this criterionsubjects ensuring logging and hauling opera-tions should be equipped with corresponding machines. Opening-up a "gravitation area" on the basis of the total real potential can be considered to be a proposal which fulfils present requirements for integrated management in forest stands.
