Subsidies for the Czech Wood-Processing Industry in the Period 2007-2013

Economic position of the Czech wood-processing industry is not particularly strong as compared with other processing industries in the Czech Republic. The general comparative analysis of the financial flow indicators shows that the wood-processing industry participates in figures for the whole processing industry by about 5%. One of challenges to change the situation into a greater share of the industry is seen in the utilization of resources from the EU Structural Funds in the coming years. The resources may be channeled into the area of research and development, development of human resources or to support innovation efforts in companies and the amount that can be utilized in 2007-2013 from the EU Structural Funds for these three areas is nearly 7 mld. EUR. Provided that required conditions are fulfilled, the resources can be certainly utilized also by enterprises from other branches of the national economy. What share of these resources will be gained by wood-processing enterprises
