Results experiment of cutting by a bandsaw blade with the knife-shaped geometry of teeth

The paper presents results experiment of cutting conditions at sawing wood by a thin bandsaw blade with the knife-shaped geometry of teeth. The principle of sawing when a chip originates is replaced by the principle of cutting. The cutting is carried outby teeth of a saw belt, which are sharpened to the shape of cutting knives. Monitoring the phenomena at this way of cutting is realized on a mobile belt saw Husqvarna SMB 70. The scheme of the principle of cutting, and results obtained are presented inthis paper. A basic condition to realize the given principle of cutting is using the dynamic effects of the knife-shaped tool, which induce elastic and plastic deformations in the area of the tool effect on wood.
