Adaptation of new resistant grapevine varieties to the terroir in the Czech Republic
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The 10 resistant grapevine variety are currently registered in the Czech Republic. These grapevine varieties originated from breeding work in the breeding stations in the Czech Republic. Some of these new grapevine varieties are introduced to growing practice. Among the most interesting varieties include Savilon and Vesna, for the white wines production and Cerason and Laurot for the production of red and rosé wines. These grapevine varieties are long-term evaluated in genetic resources collection at Mendel University. On the basis of assessment of qualitative and quantitative parameters of these varieties, it is possible to recommend the grapevine varieties for each terroir in the Czech Republic. Individual terroirs (wine growing sub-regions) were classified according to the basic climate parameters. Varieties are also classified in relation to the pruning load, wine quality and their requirements concerning soil conditions.
