The Řícmanice Arboretum is known as a conifers collection. There are over 100 coniferous species from the whole world there among them is Abies lowiana too. The evaluation was made of 70-year old trees whose height and trunk diameters were measured at 1.Cones were taken from 10 trees - the fertile specimens growing there. Pursuant to the Czech National Standard ČSN 481211, the quality of fruits (cones) and seeds in these samples was tested in terms of the cones length, width, weight, absolute weight ofThere were 30 cones assessed from each tree. The obtained results can be evaluated as positive since the seed germination capacity was over 10% which makes it possible to secure the generative reproduction of the naturalized individuals, i.e. the production of germinating seeds needed for the forestry and horticultural purposes in the Czech Republic.
