The Indicator 1 "Citizens´ satisfaction of the local community" was chosen to evaluate levels of overall satisfaction with a place to live and work, and with social, environmental, basic services, hobbies, employment opportunities, local planning and decision making aspects in nearly 60 municipalities of the East-Bohemian regions in years 2007, and 2008, respectively. An indicator of overall satisfaction reached the value 7. The maximal value of occurrence (50 %) reached the "fairly satisfied" group ofevaluations,"very satisfied" evaluations (35 %), "fairly dissatisfied" responders (10-15%), and "very dissatisfied" group (1-2%). The satisfaction with regard to single features received comparable values with those of reputable places. No correlation was found between the overall satisfaction indicators score and the total incomes per capita. The "citizens´ satisfaction of the local the community" an be used reasonably in strategic decision making and planning.
