Learning about complementary currencies through a modelling software

The aim of this paper is to show possibility of teaching a matter of complementary currencies through modelling software. Modelling software used was Stella from isee Systems; tasks of students varied. The paper is divided to three parts according to tasks students did. In the first part students were modeling a local currency implementation, which was followed by modelling of economical alternatives. The second part summarizes previously done research about student creativity in the field of modellingof economical alternatives; in this part students were not restricted by any frame to limit their creativity to develop and simulate new economic reality. Finally, the third and the last part, uses a simulation of particular Time Bank, which is also considered to be a complementary currency, features as a foothold for the decision about usefulness of modelling software in this case.
