Time banking, along with many other complementary economy systems, is on the world for few decades by now. There are places and communities where it thrives, and places and communities where it fails. This paper aims to look for differences in understanding of the concept of time banking, from various points of view. The paper utilizes information gathered during past years of research. The main aim is to demonstrate that there are differences between starting up and running a time bank in locations where the concept is known and locations where it is not. The issue is evaluated from both sides, than discussed underlining main elements which are later compared and summed up. Result findings contain discrepancies between both sides and in conclusion there is new direction of research mentioned.
