Lifelong learning is a trend of the so-called “learning society”. This trend is also reflected in the practice of social work practice and other helping professions. A newly developing area of activities of helping professions in the Czech Republic is assistance to victims of crime. This area places high demands on erudition. The paper focuses on the evaluation of lifelong learning opportunities for helping professionals working in the field of assistance to crime victims. The aim is to reveal how social workers evaluate the possibilities of their lifelong learning in relation to the needs of the profession and in the context of employer support. One of the objectives will be to determine the willingness to own investment - time and financial. A qualitative research strategy was chosen, namely semi-standardized interviews. Helping professionals from a selected region of the Czech Republic, who represent institutions focusing on helping victims of crime with nationwide scope, were approached. The submitted research investigation is one of the partial objectives of a larger research study.
