Evaluation of Own Competences Acquired by University Studies in Helping Professionals in the Field of Assistance to Crime Victims.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Social worker who works in social services and is helping victims of crime must have education according to Act No. 108/2006 Coll. on social services. This education is obtained by employees within the framework of their studies at the university, which requires education in the field of social work, social pedagogy, special education and other related fields. In addition to the vocational training they receive during their studies, they also have to meet general requirements for the profession. The basic assumptions include endurance, intelligence, communication skills and credibility. An important competence of helping professions, however, is the ability to apply theoretical information in the field in practice. An important factor of favourable self-evaluation is also the quality of post-secondary education of social workers. Through questionnaire survey, social workers evaluated their own education and competences acquired in post-secondary education. Based on the research, the paper reveals how workers themselves perceive their knowledge, which they need when working with particularly vulnerable victims, whether this knowledge is a sufficient pillar for a quality performance of their profession.
