In contemporary social-economic conditions there occur frequent job changes caused by appearing and disappearing of enterprises, their parts, needs of new services and other changes within the market economy. The European Polytechnic institute, 1st private university in Moravia, the member of the Association of Further Education Institutes goes towards social needs by providing several forms of further education. We mention the Additional pedagogical studies1 which is a certain reflexion of needs of aningoing knowledge society. The aim of the studies is to make graduates acquire pedagogical capability for a qualified and efficient performance of a demanding pedagogical practice in sequence to their previous studies. Reasons of a change to a teaching occupation, structure of participants, content, methods and forms of studies, cooperation with practice are analysed. The emphasis is put on the transition from transmissive to constructivistic conception of education.
