Der Beitrag fasst die archäologische Situation an der böhmisch-sächsischen Grenze zusammen und diskutiert die Möglichkeiten der Archäologie, der Alten Geschichte, der Linguistik, der Genetik und der Sozialwissenschaften, die Ethnizität der Bewohner Böhmens und Sachsens in der Latènezeit zu bestimmen. Üblicherweise wird angenommen, dass die Kelten in Böhmen, während die Germanen in Sachsen lebten. Hier wird hingegen dargelegt, dass es sich bei den Begriffen Kelten und Germanen um Forschungskonstrukte einzelner Disziplinen handelt und nicht um Bezeichnung der Ethnizität der Bewohner Böhmens und Sachsens in der Latènezeit.

This article reviews the archaeological situation on the Bohemia-Saxony border and discusses the possibilities that archaeology, ancient history, linguistics, genetics and the social sciences provide for determining the ethnicity of the inhabitants of Bohemia and Saxony during the Latène period. It is usually assumed that the inhabitants of Bohemia were Celts, while Germanic tribes lived in Saxony. However, this contribution demonstrates that the terms Celts and Germans are research constructs from individual disciplines, and not designations of the ethnicity of the inhabitants of Bohemia and Saxony in the Latène period.
