The study examines Count Leopold I Berchtold’s connections with British society and their influence on his work in the fields of medicine and philanthropy. It focuses, among other aspects, on the count’s travels to Britain and selected writings, which are analyzed in the text, showing how Leopold's interactions with Britain and its scholars and philanthropists contributed to the spread of philanthropy and new medical knowledge in the Czech lands.
