Raman Base Workbench (RB Workbench) is dedicated to processing, analysis and presentation of Raman-spectroscopic data. It is an additional section of Raman Base - an integrated database and online platform for management, sharing, searching, identification, and publishing of Raman spectroscopic data. Its features are fully accessible online to all registered Raman Base users for free, via a user-friendly, intuitive graphic user interface (GUI). --- Raman Base Workbench software is an extension of Raman Base that serves as a versatile framework containing an easily expandable set of Modules based on Python programming language. These Modules can be understood as individual Tools for work with Raman spectra, and they are separated into Groups based on their general mode of use: Presentation, Transformation (Processing), and Analysis. These specific features are supported by a set of basic General functions. --- RB Workbench General Functions: Import spectral data from Raman Base (both personal and public spectra). View spectral data as spectra. View a list of depicted spectra. Rename individual spectra. Select individual spectra or multiple spectra at once. Show/hide individual spectra or multiple spectra at once. Associate multiple spectra into groups. Work with multiple spectra in groups similarly to a single spectrum. Zoom in and out of the viewed spectra. Return to previous processing steps (or go forward) using History of actions. --- The currently available RB Workbench Modules/Tools are as follows: Group: Presentation: Line color of individual spectra (pre-selected color schemes, or custom colors). Line width of individual spectra (1 to several pixels). Line style of individual spectra (normal, dashed, dotted). Background color. Chart dimensions. X and Y axis labels text (modifiable) and format (size, color). X and Y axis line thickness and color. X and Y axis range. X and Y axis ticks format: length, color. Frame (border) format: line width and color. Export image in various formats: PNG, JPG, SVG and scaling (0.5x, 1x, 2x). - Group: Transformation (Processing): Spectrum X and Y axis shift – Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide (by a constant). Remove cosmic peaks (Despike) – by Whitaker-Hayes algorithm. Fourier filter with adjustable frequency interval settings. Spectrum (peak) normalization at a specific point or range. Polynomial baseline correction (with settings of polynomial order). Noise filter – Savitzky-Golay algorithm. - Group: Analysis: 2D Heatmap (spectral map with color-coded signal intensity), e.g. for visualization of time-lapse processes. Principal component analysis (PCA). Averaging of multiple spectra.
