The gender pay gap in the Czech Republic. EGGSIE - EC´s Expert Group on Gender, Social Inclusion and Employment
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The gender pay gap is a greatly discussed topic within the EU. However, the concept is not always well understood and is often only interpreted in terms of discrimination (unequal treatment of women and men) i.e. that women are paid less for the same work. In addition, papers on the topic are often fairly technical and difficult to understand for non-economists. The aim of the report is therefore to contribute to a better understanding of the concept of pay gap in clear and non?technical terms. The gender pay gap is not a political issue at any level of employment relations in the Czech Republic. In this report I have drawn attention to the absence of policies, measures, or identified goals designed to eliminate the gender pay gap at various levels among the spectrum of actors in employment relations.
