Children of the Socialist Paradise. Images of Children and Youth in Opposition and Exile Circles (Kundera, Kryl, Wegner)
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Communist ideologies and the real socialist system of the 1970s and 1980s always presented themselves as a young worldview that saw its salvation in the future and was therefore intended for young generations. On the one hand, the rhetorically targeted rejuvenation of society led to the instrumentalisation and propagandistic exploitation of children and youth, on the other hand, attempts were made to ideologically influence the new generations already at a tender age. My contribution presents some of the counter-concepts that emerged as an alternative or critique against the ideologically motivated kidnapping of the real socialist state. I address the following questions: What concepts of childhood and youth and what strategies were developed in oppositional circles? In addition to the reflections of the Czechoslovakian writer Milan Kundera, who lived in exile in France, the song lyrics of the prominent songwriters Bettina Wegner and Karel Kryl will be discussed, thus attempting a gender-appropriate and transnational (GDR and Czechoslovakia) comparative analysis.
