In der 80ern ist die Tschechoslowakische sozialistischer Republik immer mehr in einer, vor allem ökonomischer, Krise geraten. Eine der Wege, um dieser Entwicklung zu ändern, wurde es sich and die Akademie der Wissenschaften zu wenden. Marxismus als die leitende Kraft war eine Wissenschaft, so um eine Lösung zu finden sich an die Wissenschaftler zu wenden, war nichts Besonderes. Gewisse Kreise in der Akademie, die in einer Verbindung mit den Reformstrom der Kommunistischen Partei waren, haben diese Möglichkeit gerne genützt als sie auch ihre Ansichten, wie man den Staat leiten sollte, durchsetzen wollten. Diese Bestrebungen dann führten zu der Entstehung des Instituts für Prognostik. Es war ein Reformzentrum vor allem für Ökonomie, aber später auch für auch andere Teile der Gesellschaft und des Staats. Das Institut war ursprünglich nur eine Arbeitsstelle für Koordinierung der Reformbemühung. Mit der Zeit hat es aber mehr Selbständigkeit gekriegt und Möglichkeiten seine eigenen Vorstellungen in Materiellen, die es den höchsten politischen Ebenen vorlegen sollte, bekommen. Das Institut war nicht die einzige Reformquelle, aber es war die radikalste. Mit seinen Vorschlägen hat es geschafft, das ganze Reformspektrum in seiner Richtung auszuschlagen. Das Institut hat mit seiner Arbeit auch nach der Revolution im Jahr 1989 fortgesetzt. Diesmal in neuen Bedingungen. Aber es haben die Menschen mit ihrer Reformvision gewonnen, die das Institut nach 1989 verlassen haben. Und das Institut wurde in 1993 abgeschafft.

In the 1980s, the Czechoslovak socialist republic was increasingly in crises, especially in an economic one. One of the ways to change this development was to turn to the to the Academy of Sciences. Marxism as the guiding force was a science, so to turn to the scientists for a solution was nothing extraordinary. Certain circles in the Academy, which were connected to the reform stream of the Communist Party were happy to take advantage of this opportunity as they also wanted to impose their views on how the state should be run. These efforts then led to the creation of the Forecasting Institute. It was a reform centre, mainly for economics, but later for other parts of society and the state and society. The Institute was originally only a centre for coordination of reform efforts. With time, however, it gained more autonomy and was given the opportunity to present its own ideas to the highest political levels. The Institute was not the only source of reform, but it was the most radical. With its proposals, it has succeeded in sweeping the entire reform spectrum in its direction. The Institute continued with its work even after the revolution in 1989. This time in new conditions. But those who won with their vision of reform were people who left the Institute after 1989. The Institute was abolished in 1993.n
