The workshop focused on the actual problems of the relationship between state and its immigration and asylum policy. These problems were presented from the theoretical or philosophical point of view (e.g. the position of non-country nationals in the political community of the state), historical perspective (e.g. the history of asylum law; the history of citizenship concept in Hungary), actual perspectives of EU law (e.g. the extent of EU citizenship rights according to the recent case law of the European Court of Justice; the EU asylum policy and it implementation in the Czech Republic) and actual perspectives of constitutional law (e.g. the changes in Hungarian citizenship laws).
