The design and condition of the stucco decoration from the end of the 17th century was assessed and described on site. Carefully collected samples were documented, characterized and further analyses were performed (TA, XRD, SEM-EDS, …). The aim of the material analysis of the stucco decorations is to describe the stucco materials used and thus create a basis for follow-up research, which can compare the acquired knowledge with other contemporary works. The research also has the potential to contribute to the discovery of possible authorship, preferences and knowledge regarding technique and material processing.
