*The AMIRA P1087 Integrated Tailings Management project aims at reducing the uncertainty surrounding the use of Paste and Thickened Tailings (P&TT) technologies through an improvement in the fundamental understanding of the many processes involved in tailings handling and allowing an integrated approach to TSF design and management to be evolved. The project commenced in October 2012 and has nine industry sponsors. This report covers activity from October 2012 to the end of May 2013. The initial phase of the project has been heavily oriented toward the establishment of methodologies, constructing and commissioning experimental rigs and review of prior work.
