*The AMIRA P1087 Integrated Tailings Management project aims at reducing the uncertainty surrounding the use of Paste and Thickened Tailings (P&TT) technologies through an improvement in the fundamental understanding of the many processes involved in tailings handling and allowing an integrated approach to TSF design and management to be evolved. The project commenced in October 2012 and has nine industry sponsors. This second report covers activity from June 2013 to mid January 2014. The second phase of the project has been heavily oriented toward the completion of rig construction, commissioning and the gathering of initial data. A summary of how individual topic areas are progressing follows.
