Using fly-ash stabilizates and materials from fluiduzed combustion fly-ash called the coal combustion by-products (CCB) have good potential for application in subgrade structures and roadbed materials of roads, rail ways as well as in the structural pavement layers. But one of others limiting factors of application of some CCB, is low durability in cyclic water content, causing volumetric changes. Eperimental examination were focused on improving CCB resistance to frost and water, verification of volumetric changes and improvement of pozzolana characteristics by increasing the percentage of fine particles in original material, e.g. by means of mechanical processing of alkali activated fly-ash.
