BIM a Superior Approach for Infrastructure Construction by Josef Zak
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Building Information Modeling is a process involving the creation, use and management of construction data throughout an asset’s entire life cycle (Charles Eastman et al. 1974). Some of its principles have been known since 1975. The enhancement in information, communications technologies and construction processes have become the catalyst for data utilization. Processes commonly using paper-based documentation are changing, due to the use of electronic data in civil construction. The use of data comprises a set of strategies, processes, applications, construction technologies and technical architectures that streamlines design and construction. Database-driven document management solutions allow the storage, management, visibility, exchange and distribution of data in many formats. Most of that data is in ASCII, PDF, XML, SQL-based and CAD systems file formats. These technologies provide historical, current and predictive views of project preparation, permit processes and construction operations. Such data can be used by public bodies and enterprises to support a wide range of decisions, ranging from operational to strategic.
