Zone modelling of tunnel fires using different tunnel segmentation
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This paper deals with the use of zone models in modelling road tunnel fires. A fire scenario is considered for the case of burning a heavy truck (HGV) with a load of wood. The fire is simulated using the CFAST software tool. The fire source is located in the middle of the tunnel. Regarding the limits of zone models, different spatial tunnel segmentations are considered, and the influence of these segmentations on the course of the fire is examined. The outputs are then transferred to a spreadsheet. Subsequently, a comparison of the resulting graphs is performed, especially the heat release rate graph and the upper layer temperature graph. The outputs from the programme are finally evaluated in terms of their relevance and use in relation to the modelled space.
