The paper describes motivation, history and presence of organising international student conferences at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague. The conference is organised for students of undergraduate and postgraduate study. The main aims of the conferences are to motivate students to publish their research results, to enable them to compare contributions to solution of a certain research problem at different domestic and foreign institutions, to establish personalcontact among young researchers from different universities and countries, to develop personal skills, and develop habits of research work, its presentation, and to use practically the communication skills. We have been organizing the student conferencefor nine years. The number of submitted papers has been growing. The quality of papers, posters and presentations has been continuously increasing. The conference is the first conference for many students and thus it enables them easier .
