Comparison of Lumped and Unsteady 1-D Models for Simula-tion of a Radial Turbine
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of the current contribution is to demonstrate the results of unsteady turbine simulation using the basic modules of generalized 1-D manifold solver in GT Power. The tools for it were presented at SAE 2008 World Congress. The turbine model calibration parameters (flow direction angles, loss coefficients, leakage coefficients) are identified by means of 1-D steady model (described in previous papers) used in optimization code loop to find their values fitting measured efficiency and reduced flow rate in the best way. The turbine models were calibrated applying optimization procedure to a "turbine test rig" simulated in GT Power. The optimizer was focused to find the best fit to the pre-selected parts of experimental turbine maps including estimated mechanical losses of turbine bearings. After calibration the models were directly implemented into engine models.
