Effect of heat treatment on the microstructure and properties of Cr-V ledeburitic steel
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Duplex coating of high alloyed tool steels is the newest and promising technology that allows improving the utility of tools in terms of wear resistance and service - time. However, the deposition of thin films onto the nitrided surface is associated with some problems that are not clear and solved yet. To enable the clarification of the problems with adhesion and mechanical properties of the system substrate/coating it is necessary to prepare the substrate with well defined microstructural parameters. The Vanadis 6 PM ledeburitic steel was chosen as a substrate for further surface processing. The material was austenitised, quenched and double tempered to a desired hardness of 57-58 HRC. Some specimens were also sub-zero treated in order to improve thetransformation of the austenite to martensite. The microstructure of heat processed steel was examined by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy.
