The impact of thermal-expansionary hydrolysis on the biodegradability of wheat straw.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The objective of this paper was to evaluate the effect of processing temperature and residence time on the biodegradability of wheat straw and to recommend sustainable process parameters for wheat straw treatment in industrial scale. The experiments werecarried out with 5% content of raw wheat straw by weight in feedstock under processing temperature and residence time in ranges 170-200°C and 0-60 minutes. The biodegradation rate was evaluated by chemical oxygen demand, detailed analysis of saccharides, acids, inhibitors of fermentation, all by liquid chromatography, and by microscopic structure of wheat straw. Based on the experiments and detailed analysis it was concluded follows. The effectiveness of thermal-expansionary hydrolysis strongly dependson composition and initial pH of biomass, on processing temperature and residence time. The biodegradation rate of wheat straw grows up with increasing processing temperature and residence time. The expansion effect inflicts an intensive
