Functional PVD Coatings for Tool Steel
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper deals with evaluation of single layer PVD coatings based on Cr, Ti and Al widely used in tool application and W and WN based functionally graded coatings. In case of functionally graded coatings, the diversity of composition was due to contentof N varying with the depth from the surface. Also, nitridation process was used as an ?interlayer? in several cases in order to further improve the adhesion. The coatings were evaluated from the point of view of hardness and adhesion. The hardness measuring was carried out using nanoindentation and microindentation methods. Adhesion testing was performed scratch test and ?Mercedes? test for qualitative adhesion measurement. The results of scratch test showed the presence of the nitrided layer significantly increases the adhesion values of CrN coating. Also the presence of metallic interlayer in functionally graded materials further increases coating adhesion by gradually approaching its composition to the substrate. Coatings consisting
