Rheological properties of collagen solution assessed by extrusion process
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The article is focused upon measurement of rheological properties of slightly compressible viscoelastic liquid using a capillary rheometer. An extrusion rheometer is constructed to investigate the fluid flow in an annular slit between circular tube and acentral pin with constant cross section. The sample of tested material is pushed by a hydraulically driven piston from container to the annular measuring section. Manually adjusted hydraulic drive enables continuous variation of the piston velocity andthe shear rate. The range of shear rates depends upon the measuring section geometry - for wide annular gap it is approximately from 50 to 2000 s-1. Strain gauges installed into grooves milled into the outer cylinder serve for monitoring of axial pressure profile. Therefore it is possible to identify not only the basic non-elastic shear characteristics (Herschel Bulkley model parameters) but also the elongation viscosity (evaluated from inlet pressure drop) and the first normal differenc
