Part 1 - General requirements - published in August 2007 as a revision edition of July 2005 Part 2 - Sheet metals and wide flats - published July 2005 Part 3 - Rod sections - published July 2005 This standard uses the boundary of thickness tolerances of the standards: EN 10029 hot rolled steel sheets from 3 mm. The boundary tolerances of dimensions shape and weight. EN 10051 Sheet metal and strips of unalloyed and alloyed steels continuously hot-rolled without coating. Boundary tolerances on dimensions and shape tolerances. Pictures taken from ČSN 420015 from r. 1968 catalog of Oberflächenfehler an warmgewalzten Flachstahlerzeignissen, Stahleisen Verlag GmbH, Düsseldorf. The standard ČSN EN 10163 is valid for the evaluation and repair of surface quality of plates, wide and shaped rods made by hot rolling. It does not address the quality of the edges of sheets, strips or rods. The surface quality is usually evaluated visually by the naked eye, which can distort the evaluation by covering the surface of the oxide scale. The contractor guarantees to defects discovered after decapping, which must be given the opportunity to correct them later.
