Simulation of mechatronic phenomena in railway wheelset set torque transmission
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Lately, the deployment of the railway locomotives with very high tractive power in modern railway transport has caused new problems. Transmission of high torque values to wheels causes straining in the press-fitted joint between the wheel and the axle that was almost unknown until these days. If the transmission of the torque to the wheels is bounded with the variable external influences such as adhesion conditions, track irregularities, variation of wheel forces, etc. periodically repeating oscillations of running wheelsets may lead to the loss of friction in the press-fitted joint and consequently the failure of the whole press-fitted joint. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the specific conditions under which such oscillations occur in drives of the vehicles. Modelling the torque transmission dynamics from the motor to the locomotive wheels via simulation programs requires procedures of creating mathematical model based on the idea of a simplified description typical for engineering simulators. These are proposed and described in the article. Some of them can be applied in mechatronic applications especially in a didactic explanation of mechanical principles in mechatronics.
