Monitoring sufficient volume flow rate through the supply vein during hemodialysis is one of the important operations used to diagnose the correct function of the vascular access. For the volume flow rate measurement, the so-called dilution method is commonly used, where a contrast substance is introduced into the needles arrangement which is different from the hemodialysis arrangement. This paper deals with the change in the pressure relationship in the hemodialysis access with the reverse flow in the needles of the dilution method for two types of the needle imposition. The influence of the change of the pressure relationship on the vein flow in the hemodialysis approach is discussed. An experiment was constructed to simulate the entire arm with the AV-shunt and the area of needles imposition. Pressure measurements were performed for the volume flow rate 400, 500, 600, 700 and 800 ml/min, and volume flow rate in circle of blood cleaning 0, 185, 235 and 255 ml/min. To make the experiment as close as possible to the real conditions, a special solution with physical properties similar to blood was used as the working fluid.
