Nowadays, door frames are mainly assembled by welding of rolled profiles. However, this approach has several problems: requirements for skilled welding personnel, relatively time-consuming production and, given the considerable dimensions of the final product, issues with transportation to the end customer. Therefore, a new manufacturing process for the door frame is proposed. The new solution uses profiles, which are split with cutting tools instead of a circular saw. Additional assembly segments are welded on these profiles. Spot resistance welding is used instead of MAG technology. The product is shipped in a disassembled form, and the end-user assembles it self-help. The proposed solution meets the applicable legislative requirements.
