Blending Efficiency of Visco Jet Agitators
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Visco Jet ® agitators are available for several years as a substitute for commonly used agitators such as pitched blade turbines, Rushton turbines or hydrofoils. However, contrary to the commonly used agitators, there seems to be no evaluation of their performance available in the scientific literature. The manufacturer from whom the agitators were bought, VISCO JET ®, declares that the advantages of their agitators are `Short mixing times and low motor power requirements...’ at various viscosities. From an engineering point of view, the relationship between the flow behavior, the homogenization time, and the power consumption, is often the most interesting as it gives the engineer an energy value based on which the different agitators can be compared. These properties were explored using dimensionless blending time and Power number as suggested in the Handbook of industrial mixing.
