Transmission Line Model of the Left-Handed Coplanar Waveguide

Two simple equivalent circuits of a left-handed coplanar waveguide are presented in this paper, the first very simple and the other more sophisticated. The dispersion characteristics computed with the aid of these circuits and computed with CST MicrowaveStudio are compared. The moduli of transmission coefficient S21 calculated by the Microwave Studio and calculated using the more sophisticated model are compared. The proposed equivalent circuits are determined to represent the properties of the fabricated left-handed coplanar waveguide.
