Model Predictive Control is very popular in advanced control solutions. Successful implementation is usually highly dependent on the quality of given model. In practical use it is often impracticable or costly to obtain sufficiently excited input-outputexperimental data. It can be very profitably if designer can use any additional prior information about the process and combined it with the available data. This approach is implicitly included in the grey-box model identification. A new effective way how to identify grey-box models that would be relevant in setting predictive control will be shown. The functionality will be demonstrated using real process data.
