One of the prerequisites for acquiring company competitiveness is its participation in global supply chain. New approach requires a target-oriented management the foremost task of which is co-ordination, as well as correlated matters such as relationshipdefinition, partner selection, building relationships and creation of protective barriers. The network can generally be managed on the basis of employing the market or hierarchy principle. Management is facing tasks connected with disputes between individual partners, requirements for mutual links and structuring of technologies, with mutual use of capacities, with creation of a relevant information flow, with designation of roles and competences etc. Network functionality and effectiveness assessmentcriteria are following from its purpose, which means fulfilment of requirements first in terms of compliance with a business strategy individual participants accepted as their own, and second in terms of customers.
