Video as a tool for quantitative analysis of tremor and bradykinesia
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Video recordings have become part of routine procedures in movement disorders practice, allowing to register abnormal movement patterns for diagnostic and educational purposes, as well as to monitor the progression in time. We have recently developed TremAn - a tool for automatic detection of tremor and measurement of its frequency from conventional videos. TremAn validity was assessed in a study combining tremor assessment from video with accelerometry and Fahn?Tolosa?Marin tremor scale in 26 patientswith essential tremor and 5 healthy volunteers. Results showed that the frequencies of tremor measured by TremAn and by accelerometry are closely related, attaining agreement with less than 0.5 Hz in 94% of measured samples. The reproducibility of frequency measurements was comparable, with the mean TremAn/accelerometry ratio of measurement error standard deviations equal to 0.99. The ease of TremAn use allowing to analyze any archived video sequence compensates for the fact that it cann
