MODELING OF THE DROP TEST OF THE CYCLING HELMET
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The protective function of a bicycle helmet is tested under ČSN EN 960 in a so-called drop test. The study is focused on helmet drop tests conducted in numerical software LS DYNA. According to this standard ČSN EN 960 - virtual model of the head and impact pad was created. The model of the bicycle helmet utilized from earlier studies and obtained from 3D scan of the real helmet was also used. The model has similar properties as a real drop test model. The quality of helmet's damping properties is derived from the values of acceleration measured in the centre of gravity of a dummy head. With the help of the LS DYNA program the quality of damping properties of three types of helmet design was compared. The effect of helmet's displacement from the ideal position on dummy head was also examined. The aim was to find the output value of the model of head acceleration during the drop test and evaluation of Head Injury Criterion. This project was done within the framework of the institutional
