The article discusses preparing of a new concept of regional rail transport in the Region of Karlovy Vary, which should be implemented in the short term after the completion of modernization projects on rail infrastructure. The aim of new operational concept was to create such a schedule of regional rail transport in Region of Karlovy Vary, in order to allow maximum improvement in interchange-connections in the rail-node Cheb and strengthen the regular type of transport in the sessions with strongest demand. In operational aspects, the main task was maximizing the mileage newly acquired rolling-stock for regional transport and all the constraints specified by the orderer, especially after the allowable limit of total traffic performance. The target criterion was therefore to achieve maximum effectiveness, taking into account a wide range of restrictive conditions.
