Influencing the Effect of Treatment of Diseases Related to Bone Remodelling by Dynamic Loading
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In this chapter, a more detailed influences of various biochemical factors will be added into the bone remodelling model through the RANKL-RANK-OPG chain mediating the effects of majority of acting hormones, growth factors, and cytokines. Physical activity (dynamic loading) is very essential in bone adaptation process. Actually, because it has a significant promoting effect on bone formation, it can be used for "treatment" of low bone mass. The addition of control factors will enable to predict concreteeffects of changes of serum levels of these control factors of bone remodelling such as estrogen or NO. Several diseases and their possible treatment is simulated, e.g. influence of menopause, hyperparathyroidism, and disuse. The importance of proper exercise will be apparent and its significant contribution to bone tissue formation as well. However, still in more severe cases only the simultaneous treatment with medicaments and increase in exercise can reach the desired ef
