Experimental Verification of Concrete Resistance Against Low-Ph Environment
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper shows results of a study focused on developing concrete with high resistance in low-pH environment. It explains the basic principle of ensiling and the process of concrete degradation due to the action of acidic silage juices on the concrete surface. In the introductory part of the paper, the principles of degradation of concrete by organic acids are found, which are found especially in silage and saliva pits, biogas stations, concrete floors and grids in the vicinity of feeders with addition of formic acid and also in fermenters and slurry reservoirs. Typical signs of concrete degradation after using a silage pit for one year can be seen in the photographs. The resistance of five different concrete mixtures against a 0.5% sulphuric acid solution was examined. In the experimental part, the results of concrete resistance monitoring against low pH are presented. Concrete assays include additional accompanying tests. The corrosion of the concrete was quantified by measuring degradation evaluated using weight loss and depth of attack.
