Concrete resistance against low-pH environment
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper presents the results of a study focused on the development of high-resistance concrete in a low-pH environment. It explains the basic principle of silage and the process of degradation of concrete due to the action of acidic silage juices on the concrete surface. In the introductory part of the paper we find the principles of degradation of concrete by organic acids, which are found especially in biogas stations, silage and saline pitches, concrete floors and grids near formic acid feeders and also in fermenters and sludge reservoirs. Typical signs of a concrete degradation after using a silage pit for one year can be seen in the photographs. The resistance of five different concrete mixtures against the 0.5% sulfuric acid solution was investigated. In the experimental part, the results of concrete monitoring against low pH are presented. Specific tests include additional accompanying tests. Concrete corrosion was quantified by measuring degradation assessed by weight loss and depth of attack.
