Experience with UHPC Structures in the Czech Republic
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
uthors have been involved in research and development of ultra-high performance fibre-reinforced concrete (UHPC) and its applications for precast members in the Czech Republic, namely for bridges. The experience from this research has been partly utilized in design and implementation of several bridges in the Czech Republic as follows: UHPC deck for the composite steel and concrete bridges in Benátky upon the Jizera and Přerov segmental deck of the cable-stayed footbridges in Čelákovice, Příbor and Lužec lightweight pedestrian precast bridges UHPC pretensioned beams for roads and railways Design issues, detailing, construction method and efficiency of using UHPC on these bridges are mentioned in this paper. Main advantages of the UHPC applications are high durability, low maintenance and reasonable life cycle cost. All applications were successfully implemented as alternative proposals in tenders with given financial limits. Another aspect of this concept is better sustainability compared to traditional steel or prestressed beams, this fact is also shown and documented. Following good practical experience, the Czech recommendations for the material, testing, design and production technology of precast structures made of UHPC in the Czech Republic were drafted and later approved by the Ministry of Transport in 2015. Updated revision of this recommendations shall be available in 2021.
