Teaching Strategic Marketing at Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies (MIAS) is oriented practically. This is enabled thanks to cooperation with small companies ? start-ups joined in the InovaJet, the business incubator of Czech Technical University (CTU). Practically oriented teaching enables to teach in more attractive way, to involve students, to apply experience from abroad and to link up students from university to companies. The idea of teaching in a practical way is not new but still it is not applied widely. Such cooperation must be based on mutual convenience. Due to cooperation with start-ups students can work in real situation and solve existing problems, they work in teams; they practise project management including time management and human resource management. Companies also benefit from this cooperation, students give them independent view to their own business including analysis of the market and subjects operating there, they help them to remove professional blindness
