El capítulo se centra en la identificación y propuestas para el posible uso del patrimonio industrial en la cuenca del río Deuro en el noreste del estado de Michoacán, México. La identificación del patrimonio industrial se llevó a cabo sobre la base de una investigación cuantitativa y cualitativa directamente en el área investigada y los resultados del análisis se describen en detalle en el capítulo y se documentan mediante fotografías. Como ejemplo de buena práctica, el texto menciona el uso del patrimonio industrial en la República Checa en la región de Moravia-Silesia. Allí, el patrimonio industrial se explota a través de un producto turístico que no solo trae efectos económicos a la región, como la creación de empleo, el apoyo a las pequeñas y medianas empresas locales, sino que también apoya la identidad local, la cohesión social y la preservación de la historia a través de la narración.

The chapter focuses on the identification and proposals for the possible use of industrial heritage in the Deuro River Basin in the northeastern part of the state of Michoacán, Mexico. The identification of industrial heritage was carried out on the basis of quantitative and qualitative research directly in the researched area and the results of the analysis are described in detail in the chapter and documented by photographs. As an example of good practice, the text mentions the use of industrial heritage in the Czech Republic in the Moravian-Silesian Region. There, industrial heritage is exploited through a tourism product that not only brings economic effects to the region, such as job creation, support for small and medium-sized local businesses, but also supports local identity, social cohesion, and preservation of history through storytelling.
