External Dose from Radioactive Aerosols Evaluation
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The poster describes the study of external doses from gamma and beta radiation in the environment with high concentration of radioactive aerosol. All measurements were carried out in the environment of the Radon Aerosol Chamber (RAC) which is located in the area of the National Institute for Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection (Pribram, Kamenna, Czech Republic). RAC has volume of 10 m3 and allows creation of a stable radioactive or non-radioactive aerosol atmosphere. For radioactive aerosol creation the radon concentration 1 MBq/m3 was used as maximum. The measured values of dose equivalents obtained using TLD detectors were compared with the results of the Monte Carlo simulation. The designed MCNPX model enabled estimation of the individual contributions of radon and its decay products to the dose equivalent as well. The portion of the radon decay products, which were deposited on different surfaces inside the RAC, was also considered in the model.
