Contribution deals with the development and testing of the novel type of smart textile material based on nano-composite layer structure applicable for fabrication of CBRN protective garments. In addition to the high level of protection against CWA/BWA liquids and vapors (aerosols) and sufficient air permeability which contributes to the user comfort, it provides the visual color indication of surface contamination thanks to the nano-polymeric layer with incorporated sensitive and selective chromogenic indicators and also the self-decontamination ability of CWA agents by the layer of nano-sized reactive sorbents and stoichiometric catalysts. Newly developed material and its individual components currently undergo intensive testing with model chemical compounds and also the CBRN live agents, giving promising results so far.
