Thermal properties of PVC/clay nanocomposites and composites
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
PVC/clay nanocomposites have been studied almost 10 years. However, a few articles concerning these nanocomposites were related to the degradation of PVC/clay compounds. This work is regarded to the thermal and fire behaviour of PVC/clay nanocomposites.Firstly, various intercalation agents without amine groups used for the different fillers, namely kaolin and montmorillonite, were tested. These additives were applied separately or together with one of the co-intercalation agents. Moreover, the plasticizers dioctyl phthalate, isodecyl diphenyl phosphate and tricresyl phosphate, were also utilized as the co-intercalation agents. The compounds of the suspension-type of PVC and modified fillers were prepared by the melt intercalation method. Afterwards, determination of the tendency of PVC compounds to evolving hydrogen chloride and any other acidic products at elevated temperatures were measured using the Congo red, pH. Finally, fire behaviour was studied in furnace, oven and open-air en
